Mexico: number of extortion cases 2015-2023
In 2023, 10,337 cases of extortion were reported across Mexico, slightly down from 10,343 cases a year earlier. Except for 2020, the number of cases of extortions in the Latin American country has been steadily increasing since 2015, with 2022 having the largest number of cases reported in the past eight years.
