The statistic shows the online search growth rate of travel destinations related to soap operas in Brazil as of 2018. It was found that, as a result of the Brazilian telenovela 'Império' being broadcasted in 2014, tourism online searches involving Roraima - location on which the soap opera was based - grew by 525 percent. The also Brazilian production 'Segundo Sol' was estimated to generate a 112 percent increase of online searches regarding the Bahian capital, Salvador.
