Suicide prevention budget South Korea 2020-2024
In 2024, the South Korean government allocated approximately 50.8 billion South Korean won for suicide prevention, which was an increase from about 48.8 billion won in the previous year. While the budget for suicide prevention programs has been increasing steadily in recent years, it is still considered very low compared to international standards. As of 2021, South Korea had the highest suicide rate among the countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
