Sales of new motor vehicles in Latin America have been slowly increasing since the COVID-19 pandemic, but are yet to reach pre-pandemic levels. In 2023, approximately 5.5 million passenger cars and commercial vehicles were sold in the region, a decrease of 25.8 percent in comparison to the peak of the decade (7.4 million units sold in 2012).
