Rio de Janeiro was the leading destination for leisure tourism in Brazil in 2019, with one third of the international visitors surveyed reporting choosing this city for their holidays. The second position was for Florianópolis, with 17.1 percent of the international tourists spending their holidays there. The majority of leisure travelers in Brazil were attracted to the South American country by the sun and the beaches.
