The main reason why international leisure tourists visited Brazil in 2019 was beach holidays, with 65 percent of the respondents choosing it as their main motive. Nature, ecotourism, or adventure was the second most popular travel attraction among foreign leisure tourists in the South American country that year. A year earlier, ecotourism in Brazil generated a sales revenue of 8.6 billion Brazilian reals.
