This statistic presents the most common activities of online dating users in the United States prior to physically meeting someone they met on a dating website or app as of January 2019, by age group. According to the findings, 60 percent of respondents between the ages of 18 to 34 years reported that they searched the name of the person they met on a dating website or app prior to meeting them in person, and 74 percent of respondents from the same age group stated that they looked at their potential date's social media profiles prior to any physical meet up.
