During the period surveyed, 81 percent of respondents in Indonesia perceived the Islamic militant group known as ISIS to be the biggest threat to Indonesia in 2018. In comparison, 31 percent viewed Russia's power and influence to be the biggest global threat to Indonesia.

The question asked was as follows: "I'd like your opinion about some possible international concerns for (survey country). Do you think that ____ is a major threat, a minor threat or not a threat to (survey country)?", where the survey respondents were able to choose from the following options:
a. China's power and influence
b. the United States' power and influence
c. Russia's power and influence
d. global climate change
e. the Islamic militant group known a ISIS
f. cyberattacks from other countries
g. North Korea's nuclear program
h. the condition of the global economy
