Cabo San Lucas was the most popular destination among overnight tourists who visited the Mexican state of Baja California Sur in 2019 and 2020. In that latter year, roughly 570.4 thousand travelers stayed at hotels in the city. However, this figure represents a drop of more than 45 percent compared to the previous year's results. La Paz was the second most visited city in the state in 2020, outranking San José del Cabo, which occupied that place in 2019.
