Out-of-pocket expenditure as share of health spending in Paraguay 2010-2021
In 2021, Paraguay's out-of-pocket health payments from households accounted for 36 percent of total health expenditure in the country, down from 38 percent reported a year prior. This figure decreased by about 18 percentage points compared to 2010, when household out-of-pocket expenditure represented 54 percent of the total health spending in the country. As of 2021, households in the South American country spent more than one billion U.S. dollars on healthcare.
