Out-of-pocket expenditure as share of health spending in Chile 2010-2022
In 2022, Chile's out-of-pocket health payments accounted for 30 percent of the total health expenditure in the country, down from 29 percent reported two years earlier. This figure dropped by four percentage points compared to 2010, when out-of-pocket spending on health represented 34 percent of the total health expenditure in Chile. In the last year depicted, Chilean households spent approximately eight billion U.S. dollars on health care.
