Japanese consumers in their seventies were more likely to refrain from purchasing products that harm the environment or society, as revealed in a survey on sustainable shopping behavior conducted in February 2024. Over 73 percent of respondents aged 70 to 79 stated that they would at least sometimes avoid buying products with a negative impact on nature and society. The survey revealed that senior consumers were more likely not to buy unsustainable products.
