Tesla’s Model Y was the best-selling electric car in Europe as of December 2023, beating the Tesla Model 3 to first place. The Volkswagen's ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Volvo XC40 rounded off the top five.
European brands are playing catch-up
Europe's automakers seem to have taken on the challenge for the title of the most successful electric car brand on home soil. This trend was also reflected in the European electric vehicle fleet. European brands continue to face stiff competition from Tesla, and several Chinese automakers are expected to tap further into the market in 2023.
