This statistic presents the number of global Facebook accounts that are either duplicate or false accounts from the fourth quarter 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2018. In the fourth quarter of 2012 there was a total of 76 million fake accounts on Facebook, while by the fourth quarter of 2018 this amount had increased by five-fold with a total of 371 million duplicate or false accounts on the social media platform.
