Plastic packaging waste generation per capita in the EU-27 2022, by country

Ireland was the biggest producer of plastic packaging waste per capita in the European Union in 2022, at more than 66 kilograms per person. Hungary ranked second that year, with over 44 kilograms of plastic packaging waste produced per capita. The average EU plastic packaging waste generation per capita was estimated at roughly 36 kilograms that year.
