As of 2023, 571,800 domestic and 773,100 international commercial aircraft flights took place through Turkey. This figure represents a significant increase from 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic severely affected the Turkish aviation industry; the number of commercial flights went down by 42 percent for domestic and 63 percent for international flights compared to the pre-pandemic 2019 levels.
