Between 2004 and 2023, the number of commercial flights followed an increasing trend in Turkey. However, in 2020, the total number of all landings and takeoffs decreased considerably to 853,000 flights due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2023, commercial aircraft arrivals and departures amounted to roughly 1.68 million flights. This represents an increase of 13 percent compared to the previous year.
