The biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector has grown in importance over the past few decades and the value of M&A deals increased accordingly. In 2023, the value of M&A transactions in this sector amounted to a total of approximately 280 billion U.S. dollars. However, this is a far cry from the peak of 501 billion U.S. dollars in 2014.
