In 2022, there were approximately 364 thousand specialist doctors in Brazil. São Paulo ranked as the Brazilian state with the highest number of medical specialists, with around 105.5 thousand registered physicians. Minas Gerais followed, with about 39.5 thousand specialized doctors licensed in the South American country that year. As of that date, São Paulo was also the state with the largest number of generalist doctors in Brazil.
