The sector employing the largest number of people was the services sector for most of the presented regions in 2022. Only in Southern Asia as well as Sub-Saharan Africa was the agriculture sector the main employer. In 2022, 294 million people in Southern Asia and 223 million in Sub-Saharan Africa worked in the agriculture sector.
