The proportion of remittance corridors with average costs of less than 10 percent increased by roughly 10 percentage points between 2016 and 2023. Consequently, the corridors with average costs over 15 percent declined. The source adds that eight corridors had remittances costs above 20 percent in 2023, of which seven originated in Sub-Saharan Africa and had a destination inside the same Sub-Saharan Africa.
