This statistic illustrates which countries worldwide saw the largest annual negative change in the number of M&A deals between 2017 and 2018, according to a study conducted by The Institute for Mergers and Acquisitions (IMAA).
The annual change in the number of deals made by a particular country can help give insight into whether a country has become more or less favorable as a place to conduct business. In 2018, Romania saw a decrease in M&A deals by 68 percent from 2017. Vietnam also saw M&A activity drop by 67 percent.
