U.S. authors' average royalty income 2013-2017, by type
This statistic shows the median royalty income among published authors in the United States in 2013 and 2017, sorted by type. The findings show that on the whole, average royalty income among U.S. authors decreased during the measured four year period, however authors who were traditionally published by a commercial or academic publishers were hit the hardest, with their median royalty income falling from 3,900 U.S. dollars in 2013 to 2,900 in 2017.
