2021 saw worldwide sales of battery electric vehicles of around 4.8 million battery-electric vehicles, and Asia-Pacific was the main driver of sales, according to data provided by EV-Volumes. The region represented over 61 percent of the global 2021 sales, propelled by the booming electric vehicle market in China.
