
Health coverage in Chile 1990-2020, by system
In 2020, the FONASA, Chile's public health coverage scheme, covered approximately 76.5 percent of the population. Meanwhile, about 15.4 percent of Chileans were covered by ISAPRE, a private health insurance provider. Overall, the health coverage rate in the South American country increased by 8.1 percentage points, from 86.4 percent in 1990 to 94.5 percent in 2020.
