This statistic presents the share of adults in the United States whose opinion of a celebrity would change if a social media post from 5 years ago resurfaced and was out-of-character or offensive as of December 2018, sorted by age group. As of December 2018, 13 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 years stated that if they found five year old social media post by a celebrity that seemed out-of-character or offensive that their opinion towards them would completely change, while in comparison ten percent of respondents aged 65+ years stated the opposite.
