As of 2020, the availability of a wide range of gluten-free products appeared to do little to influence supermarket choice for consumers surveyed in the Netherlands. Just under ten percent of consumers surveyed indicated that gluten-free product ranges motivated them to visit a supermarket more frequently, while more than 50 percent of respondents indicated that gluten-free products had little or very little effect on their shopping habits.
