This statistic shows the development of SPD party member numbers in Germany from 1990 to 2021. At the end of 2021, the SPD party counted 393,727 members, compared to 943,402 in 1990. Thus the number of party members has more than halved since then. The SPD is one of the oldest and biggest people's parties in Germany. SPD stands for "Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands" or "Social Democratic Party of Germany".
