Perceived and actual prison occupancy level in India 2018
This statistic presents the results of a survey on perceived occupancy level of prisons in India as of October 2018. According to data published by Ipsos, Indian respondents almost matched the actual occupancy level of the prisons. On average, the respondents thought that the prison occupancy in the country was around 115 percent, when the actual occupancy rate was around 114 percent.
