This statistic presents the results of a survey on the perceived percentage of immigrants in Japan as of 2018. According to data published by Ipsos, Japanese respondents overestimated the proportion of immigrants in their country. On average, Japanese respondents thought that around 14 out of every 100 people in Japan were immigrants, when the actual share of immigrant population was around two percent in Japan.
