Number of asset managers in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands 2009-2022
Since 2009, most of the asset management companies in the Benelux region were registered in Luxembourg, signifying the role the country plays in the cross-border distribution of UCITS. However, the number of asset management companies in the country decreased steadily since 2013, reaching a total of 234 as of 2022.
In Europe, the highest number of asset managers can be found in the UK, France and Germany due to the importance of their financial centers in London, Paris and Frankfurt.
