By contrast, in the previous year, acquirers performance was positive, with +1.4 percent. The best years for acquirers in terms of performance was 2015, with +10.1 percent, which means that index returns for acquirers were 10.1 percent higher than zero, an indication that those with shares in a acquisition company have profited from M&A.
