This statistic displays the main means of transport used in Chile in 2017. On a survey, 83 percent of respondents stated that, during the week, they mainly travelled by metro or small buses, while only 12 percent said bikes were their most frequent means of transport.

* The source refers to a network of buses in the Santiago area commonly known as "micros".
The survey was conducted in the Chilean cities of Antofagasta, Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Concepción, Talcahuano, and the Santiago metropolitan region (Santiago province plus San Bernardo and Puente Alto).
The original question posed on the survey was: '¿Qué medio o medios de transporte utiliza habitualmente en día de semana para realizar sus actividades? Favor señale los dos medios más frecuentes.'
