Monthly financed loan volume of Kickstarter in the Netherlands 2017-2018

This statistic shows the monthly amount of crowdfunding raised on Kickstarter in the Netherlands from January 2017 to December 2018 (in euros). Kickstarter is an internationally well-known crowdfunding platform for creative projects. In the Netherlands, it is considered to be the 14th crowdfunding platform based on total financed volume up until December 2018 with Kickstarter backing amounting to roughly 19.2 million euros. Four out the five biggest platforms in the Netherlands (Geldvoorelkaar, Collin Crowdfund, Funding Circle, Duurzaaminvesteren and NPEX) are domestic.

In 2018, the total Dutch crowdfunding investments were worth 329 million euros. Crowdfunding involves the investments with or lending of relatively small amounts of money by a large group of investors to private individuals or companies. Usually, this happens through an online platform. There are roughly four types of this relatively new form of investing: donation, sponsorship and reward based crowdfunding, loan based crowdfunding and equity based crowdfunding.
