This statistic displays the share of people who consider the Christmas/New Year's drinks an obligation in the Netherlands in 2018, by province. Of the respondents taking part in this survey, roughly 35 percent saw the annual Christmas or New Year's drinks as an obligation. In Zeeland over 40 percent said not to be a fan of the tradition, whereas in Gelderland only 28 percent of the respondents said the same.
