This statistic illustrates the share of the Italian population drinking tap water in bars, shops and restaurants in 2018, broken down by macro-region. According to the survey, the macro-region where tap water was most accepted in was the Center of Italy, together with Sardinia. In these regions, only about 20 percent of respondents would not have consumed tap water when served in restaurants and bars, compared to 30 percent of the population in Southern Italy.
