In 2023, wine sales in Argentina amounted to approximately 7.75 million hectoliters, representing a decrease of 6.4 percent compared to the previous year.

Argentinian wine

Argentina produces a wide variety of wines, including red, white, and rosé, although red wine accounts for over 60 percent of production. The most popular variety of red grape used in wine production is Malbec, followed by Bonarda, and Shiraz. This popular beverage is produced in 15 out of the 23 provinces in the country, but in none more than in the Western province of Mendoza.

Wine exports

Wine from Argentina is also sought after in foreign markets, including but not limited to the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, and the Netherlands. In recent years, exports of wine have consistently surpassed two million hectoliters, and the South American country is among the top global wine exporters.
