Italy's liquified natural gas (LNG) regasification capacity amounted to 19 billion cubic meters in 2023, after increasing from 3.5 billion cubic meters in 2000. Regasification is the process of converting previously liquefied LNG into gas. Natural gas is liquified for easier transportation.
