In 2019, there were just over 608 book stores selling more than 2,000 titles of unique titles in the Netherlands. In comparison, there were only 83 stores selling between 1,500 and 1,999 titles. Many results have decreased with the appearance of more and more frequent online shopping in the last years.

Based on purchase volumes, including web shops. It does not take into account stockpiling or redistribution to other branches. Figures only include unique Dutch-language titles. Book sales points include specialized book stores as well as other stores selling books, such as department stores. It also includes online stores.
