The share of individuals taking generic beta blockers, among hypertensives taking beta blockers, increased considerably between 2006 and 2021 in Italy. In fact, as of 2006 around 22 percent of beta blockers users took generic ones, while by 2021 this figure increased to almost 33.3 percent.
