The ten companies were chosen by the source based on those with a core business in the manufacture or supply of branded heavy duty catering equipment to operators, primarily through a third party dealer or distributor or similar. Tableware and light equipment companies were therefore excluded, as were other players that generate the bulk of their turnover from other markets. The company Nisbets were also excluded due to primarily being recognized as a direct-selling retailer of catering products rather than through dealer sales.
