In the financial year of 2024, about 71 percent of IKEA's global retail sales were generated in the company's existing retail stores. In comparison, online sales of the Swedish furniture retail conglomerate made up to about 26 percent of its global sales.

With nearly one quarter of its revenue generated through online sales, IKEA’s web store is favored amongst global consumers. In 2023, IKEA.com ranked third amongst competitors worldwide in terms of e-commerce sales. In 2024, IKEA.com was visited over 4.5 billion times globally.
