The statistic displays the results of a survey of social media channels used for ideas and advice on Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) and Christmas gifts in the Netherlands in 2018. The survey results show that in 2018, respondents were most likely to use social media to research gift ideas, and much less inclined to give their own advice or opinion regarding holiday gifts. Approximately 60 percent of those surveyed used social media to search for gift ideas, while just over ten percent did so to give their own opinion or advice on holiday gifts.
