Following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Egypt had a positive real gross domestic product (GDP) growth of about 3.6 percent. In comparison, most Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries had a negative GDP growth in that year. Kuwait had a real GDP growth of almost minus nine percent in 2020.
