Between 1983 and 2021, around 20.1 percent of the diagnosed cases of HIV in Mexico corresponded to individuals aged between 25 and 29 years, making it the most affected age group by the disease within the timespan. Those aged 30 to 34 followed, accounting for about 18.5 percent of the total HIV cases registered in the Latin American country during that same period. Moreover, the majority of people living with HIV (but not having developed AIDS) in Mexico between 1984 and 2021 were men.
