Return on equity (ROE) of insurance companies in Italy 2010-2023

The return on equity (ROE) of the insurance sector in Italy plummeted in 2022 after reaching a peak of 14 percent in 2019. Between 2010 and 2023, the lowest return on equity of the sector was registered in 2011, at negative 7.1 percent. However, in the following years, the value registered a positive growth, peaking at 14.1 percent in 2019. In 2023, this figure grew to 11.6 percent returning to similar values before 2022.
