Share of Japanese outbound travelers 2022, by age group and gender
In 2022 in Japan, 4.8 percent of women in their twenties and 4.1 percent of men in their thirties went on a trip abroad. These were the age cohorts with the highest share of outbound travel among both genders and all age groups during that year. Compared to previous years, figures declined significantly as outbound travel almost stopped entirely with the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.
