In 2023, the transaction value of the travel agency market in Japan amounted to around 3.64 trillion Japanese yen, a decrease from about 5.9 trillion yen in 2015. The transaction amount handled by Japanese travel agencies recorded a continuous downward trend in recent years, impacted by the decrease in domestic travels purchased through agencies. This trend was exacerbated by the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic.
