Cost-to-income ratio
The cost-to-income ratio is an important measure to evaluate the financial performance of companies and, particularly, banks. It is calculated by dividing operating expenses by operating income. This indicator shows how efficiently a company is run: the lower the cost-to-income ratio, the more profitable the company is (or should be).
