This statistic presents the age when social media users in the United States opened their first social media account as of September 2018, by gender. According to the findings, 21 percent of female respondents stated that they opened their first social media account when they were between the ages of 13 to 17 years, while in comparison 19 percent of male respondents stated similarly in terms of when they opened their first account.
